On Saturday, July 3, 2021, John Demasi, host of South Jersey radio show Talk With A Purpose, hosted Bronte’ Walker, a 12-step recovery instructor at RCA at Lighthouse, and Ed O, an RCA alum, as part of his ongoing series Fighting the Opioid Epidemic.
Ahead of Independence Day, the topic of this episode was freedom in recovery. Walker described his work in helping those in the grip of a substance use disorder face their fears, work through guilt and shame, finding freedom from being “a hostage to their situations.”
Asked by Demasi what freedom means to him, RCA alum Ed O said, “It’s getting your life back, and becoming the person you were meant to be.”
